The Processes to Create the Billion Dollar Potential

The creation of tomorrow’s billion dollar “killer apps” entails incubation, catalysis and technology acceleration. The priorities of investment, marketing and sales to achieve such centre-pieces of Quantum Tech 2.0 innovation require a two part process: identification and prioritisation of investment.

Identification and Prioritisation of Investment Process

QiLabs is putting together the following:

  1. Quantum Science Panel (QSP) with several Nobel Prize winners dedicated to prioritising and sequencing QT2’s road-map;
  2. Independent Scientific Board (ISB) dedicated to hallmarking and benchmarking different QT2 opportunities; and
  3. Tech Entrepreneurs Board (TEB) dedicated to providing the commercial layer of expertise to QiLabs as well as financial navigation and injection.

The work flow follows a multi step iterative approach as follows:

  1. Step 1 “Search Phase”: QSP collection and bibliometrics analysis of scientific literature based on pre-defined search terms:
  1. Delivery of a widespread and unbiased overview of a topic
  2. Identification of emerging “hot spots” and illustration of their interconnectedness
  1. Step 2 “Analysis Phase”: ISB assessment of materials:
  1. Identification of relevant developments in a technology field
  2. Analysis of application potential, complementary, and concurrent developments
  3. Assessment of future developments (forecast)
  4. Identification of social, political, economic, investment and environmental factors
  5. Formulation of recommendations for specific stakeholders including commercialisation prospects
  1. Step 3 “Validation Phase”: Iterative verification of results by QSP and ISB:
  1. Verification of uniqueness given that the end goal is to find novel and unique QT2 applications
  2. Verification of completeness regarding publications, research groups and institutions
  3. Verification of the temporal assessment of the experts (retrospective validation)
  4. Visualisation of scientific cooperation and temporal dynamics
  5. Verification of expert assessment of future developments through consultation of additional experts (forecast validation)
